Appeal after ANZAC memorial vandalised at Ryde, NSW

Police are appealing for information after an ANZAC memorial stone was vandalised in Ryde this week.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command commenced investigations after receiving reports the memorial stone – located outside a memorial club on Cowell Street – had been damaged following a dawn service held at the location in the early hours of Monday 25 April 2022.

Inquiries have led police to believe the stone was damaged between 7am on Monday 25 April 2022 and 9.50am on Tuesday 26 April 2022.

As investigations into the incident continue, police are appealing for anyone with information or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident, to come forward and contact Ryde Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
