Appeal after sexual act, NSW

Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with investigations into reports of an alleged sexual offence in Surry Hills.

About 6.45pm (Wednesday 17 August 2022), a man allegedly performed a sexual act in front of a woman in a female toilet of a licenced premises, before leaving the scene.

The woman reported the incident to staff members who contacted police.

Officers attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

As part of ongoing inquiries, police have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man depicted is described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, medium build, aged in his 30’s and unshaven.

He was wearing a black hooded jumper, white shirt with black stripes, black pants, white shoes, carrying a black cross body bag with a cast on his left arm.

As inquiries continue, police urge anyone with information that may assist with the identification of the man to contact Surry Hills police on 9265 4144 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
