Appeal to identify Melbourne CBD graffiti vandals

Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a group of male youths who vandalised numerous buildings across Melbourne’s CBD last week.

The group were seen marking graffiti near King Street and Flinders Street about 11.15pm on Friday, 6 May.

It is understood the group walked east along Flinders Street towards the railway station, spray-painting more graffiti, including under the bridge near Queens Bridge Street.

They continued north on Swanston Street, where one of the men was observed vandalising a building near the intersection with Bourke Street.

Two of the men were then seen marking graffiti near the intersection with Little Lonsdale Street.

Police located the group near the intersection of Swanston Street and La Trobe Street.

A 22-year-old McCrae man was arrested and charged with criminal damage offences.

The rest of the group fled the scene on foot.

Police have released images and CCTV footage of several males who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
