Appeal to locate teenager missing from Sydney’s east

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenager missing from Sydney’s east.

Darby Rayner, aged 14, left a home in Balfour Street, Rose Bay about 10:30am last Sunday (31 December 2023).

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were initially notified later that day, and immediately commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

The teenager was last seen at a home on Ridge Street, Gordon, at 12:30pm yesterday (Monday 1 January 2024).

Family and police hold concerns for Darby’s welfare due to his age.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, with blond hair.

The teenager was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, black shorts, black sneakers and carrying a camouflage backpack.

He is known to frequent the Gordon, Sydney CBD and Rose Bay areas.

Anyone with information into Darby’s whereabouts is urged to contact Waverley Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
