Police Air Wing have assisted local police arresting a man after spotting a car allegedly travelling over 200km/hr on the Eastern Freeway overnight.
Officers spotted the Cupra Leon sedan speeding on the Eastern Freeway, near Chandler Road, Kew about 1.30am.
Air Wing tracked the vehicle through numerous suburbs before it pulled into a carwash on Nicholson Street, Fitzroy.
Local officers were quickly on scene and arrested the driver.
A 27-year-old Fitzroy man was charged with reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and drive at a speed dangerous.
He was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 17 November.
