Australian Headquartered GWA Group Ltd, drives innovation and flex through a sustainable IT Infrastructure delivered by Curvature globally:

Leading multi-vendor maintenance & professional services provider selected to facilitate M&A growth and allow IT to deliver a competitive global business strategy.

Lindfield, NEW SOUTH WALES. – 29 October, 2020– Curvature, the world’s largest provider of third-party maintenance, multi-vendor networks and data center IT lifecycles, have announced that Sydney based GWA Ltd – leaders in the manufacture, supply and distribution of quality, innovative commercial and domestic bathroom and kitchen solutions – have selected Curvature to provide a sustainable, innovative IT infrastructure. This infrastructure accommodates GWA’s fast growth and M&A expansion strategy across Australia, New Zealand and now into global markets of China and the UK.

With an IT vision matches that of their products, GWA pride themselves on using sustainable technology solutions to deliver innovation. Their changing infrastructure requirements emerged through a combination of acquiring additional brands and an evolution of operations, expanding manufacturing to ownership and distribution of brands such as Caroma, Methven, Dorf and Clark. Now with a global footprint and layers of inherited IT, GWA began the process of amalgamation that would drive competitive edge and faster response times to make better business decisions.

“With GWA’s acquisition of Methven last year, our footprint extended beyond our traditionally served markets in ANZ. Overnight GWA effectively became a global brand with a physical presence across UK and China, which meant that the complexity of our IT operations just increased several fold.” Noted Adam Simpson, IT Manager, GWA Group Ltd.

GWA’s growing global footprint meant that one of the first tasks facing IT was to review maintenance contracts for equipment across markets. Having previously engaged an Australian TPM service provider with broad coverage in each state across ANZ, GWA now needed to identify a partner that had a strong always-on presence across the new operational markets. GWA identified Curvature largely due to their global footprint with hundreds of local engineers, service centers and part locations across the world and significantly, in Asia and Europe. First job in hand; to understand and assess the state of GWA’s global hardware footprint across continents through an effective IT Asset Management inventory study. The Curvature inventory detailed the usability state of Cisco, HPE, and Dell existing equipment and also identified local priorities to optimize productivity for new servers and networking equipment. Next, multiple hardware vendor maintenance contracts were rolled into one Curvature global contract focused on lifecycle sustainability and suitability for business purpose and gaps were identified and plugged. The resultant savings in resources and costs gave GWA the headroom to focus on IT optimization and on delivering a competitive business strategy for the years to come.

“Curvature’s value in helping us traverse the multi-layered complexity of IT infrastructure in a sustainable manner not only aligns to our values, but they’re helping us embark on our evolving digital transformation. That can be quite a challenge for any modern business, but with Curvature, we’re able to do this in a cost-effective and efficient manner, while strengthening our entire infrastructure stack.” Concluded Simpson.
