Bermagui Christmas bonus from holiday park upgrade

Small businesses on the NSW South Coast are set to benefit from a $3.89 million upgrade of the Bermagui Reflections Holiday Park, which will bring new visitors to the region over the Christmas holidays.

Minister for Lands and Water Kevin Anderson said eight new cabins have arrived at the beach-side park and are being fitted out in preparation for visitors to move in and enjoy over the summer.

“In 2022 the NSW Government provided Reflections with a $28 million loan to improve facilities at its Crown land holiday parks and help boost regional tourism, so it’s great to see infrastructure upgrades in Bermagui,” Mr Anderson said.

Reflections Holiday Parks. CEO Nick Baker said more NSW and interstate visitors can now enjoy the magnificent scenery of Bermagui and the Sapphire Coast, like the award-winning Blue Pool and Horse Head Rock, while supporting small businesses.

“Reflections Bermagui welcomes more than 52,000 visitors each year contributing almost $2 million to the region’s economy. This upgrade will attract about 20,000 more visitors injecting a further $1 million into the local economy each year.

“Reflections’ purpose is to maximise the economic and social benefit for the local community, so we don’t build restaurants or resorts within our parks. Instead, we encourage our guests to support local cafes, restaurants, shops and tour operators, and get to know the wonderful people and natural treasures that make Bermagui so special,” Mr Baker said.
