Yarra Ranges community members will be able to continue accessing Cire Services support programs at a state of the art venue, after the not-for-profit service provider entered a lease with Council to operate out of the Chirnside Park Community Hub.
The agreement will see Cire leasing the facility for the next five years, with an option to extend that by a further four years.
The decision came after Council assessed a number of expressions of interest from a variety of community support providers to lease the facility.
Cire Services has been successfully managing, and delivering Neighbourhood House initiatives and Child and Family services out of the hub over the past 18 months.
Director Communities at Yarra Ranges Council, Jane Price, said that the facility was a perfect fit for Cire, allowing them to continue delivering important support services to the community.
“For Cire to have the certainty of providing their services from this facility for an extended period is a great outcome for the community,” Ms Price said.
“This allows them to continue operating their learning and social connection services as well as their ongoing support for local families.
“They’ve also shown that they have been able to adapt to this new COVID way of living, by delivering many of their services in an online format during lockdown.
“This lease will also enable Cire to offer Kindergarten services and much needed support for early childhood education both now and post-COVID.”
Cire Services CEO Gus Seremetis said, “This is a wonderful opportunity and we are really excited to continue servicing our community in partnership with Yarra Ranges Council.”
