  • The agreement was announced at the NFF Leaders’ Summit, which brings together leaders from agriculture, business and government to discuss opportunities and challenges facing the sector.

CommBank has strengthened its support for Australian agriculture through a new strategic collaboration with the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF), becoming the organisation’s exclusive banking partner and working together to support initiatives that strengthen the resilience, profitability and growth of the sector.

Announced at the NFF Leaders’ Summit in Canberra, the alliance builds on CommBank’s long history of backing farmers, agribusinesses and regional communities through changing seasonal conditions, market cycles and evolving industry conditions.

Through this collaboration, CommBank will work with NFF on shared priorities including supporting agricultural career pathways, the opportunities for innovation, technology and artificial intelligence to improve productivity and understanding of how natural capital can boost farm performance and build resilience.

CommBank General Manager Agribusiness Natasha Greenwood said working with the NFF would help highlight issues that matter to farmers and regional communities.

“Agriculture is fundamental to Australia’s economy, our regions and our national prosperity. For more than a century, CommBank has stood alongside farming families and agribusinesses through periods of opportunity, uncertainty and change,” Greenwood said.

“Australian agriculture faces both opportunities and challenges, from seasonal and market variability to rising input costs.

“At the same time, advances in technology, data and artificial intelligence are reshaping what’s possible on farm, helping producers make real time decisions which can improve profitability and productivity. Growing interest in natural capital is also creating opportunities to strengthen farm performance and unlock value.

“Together with the NFF, we’re committed to supporting farmers navigate this changing landscape and help build profitable and resilient farming businesses.”

Commenting on the decision to work with CommBank, NFF CEO Mike Guerin said: ”Australian agriculture has reached a significant milestone as a $100 billion industry, but our focus remains on ensuring the sector is equipped for the future.”

“CommBank’s support will help the NFF continue to engage with industry, government and communities on the opportunities and challenges shaping farming, from workforce pathways and innovation to sustainability and long-term sector growth.”

CommBank maintains Australia’s largest branch network and is committed to helping its customers manage the opportunities and challenges that come with the cyclical nature of agriculture.
