Works to repair the Corroboree Billabong Boat Ramp are now complete, with the ramp open for the public to use.

Local business Vrahos Contractors delivered the works, which included:

The removal of the defective section of concrete matting; andPouring of a new concrete pavement on the lower section of the ramp.

The works will improve safety and increase accessibility for boat ramp users.

In addition to the Corroboree Billabong Boat Ramp works, the Territory Labor Government recently awarded a $5.1 million contract to upgrade 11.8 kilometres of the Point Stuart Access Road.

Local business Allan King and Sons Construction Pty Ltd will be delivering the works, which will support nearly 30 jobs throughout construction.

Works include the installation of culverts and floodways, as well as widening 11.8 kilometres of the 4WD track from the boat ramp car park at Point Stuart back towards Darwin. These upgrades further increase access to this popular region for fishing, by extending the access window further into the wet season.

Upgrading of the Point Stuart Access Road form part of the Northern Territory Government’s $50 million RecFishing Futures Program.
