Council House will light up blue tonight as a tribute to the inspirational efforts by WA Police who rescued 4-year-old Cleo Smith in Carnarvon this morning.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said Western Australia had been gripped since Cleo went missing while camping with her parents last month near Carnarvon.
“The outpouring of emotion from people across Australia has been unprecedented since the news broke this morning that Cleo had been found,” he said.
“The tireless and amazing work by WA Police in solving this case has been inspirational and the entire state has been overjoyed at the news.
“Lighting up Council House in blue is just a simple gesture on our part to let WA Police, family and friends of Cleo and the Carnarvon community know that we are thinking of them and are relieved that Cleo has been reunited with her family.”
The East Perth Community will also recognise the outstanding effort by WA Police by encouraging its residents to light-up their buildings in blue.
The City of Perth is encouraging everyone to show their support for WA Police and the family and friends of Cleo Smith but lighting up blue tonight.
