Dubbo Regional Council is launching a pilot Small Business Grant Program to help boost economic growth and development within the region.
Small businesses are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $5,000 with applications supporting a range of improvements, ideas and projects for local businesses.
Some examples of projects small businesses can apply for grant funding include business frontage improvements, improve lighting, shopfront landscaping or activities that boost the night-time economy.
Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Josh Black said the Dubbo Region Small Business Grant Program is a pilot designed to help local small businesses grow, create more jobs and keep more spending in the region.
“This program is about backing small businesses to invest in projects and improvements that invest in the growth of our small business community,” Clr Black said.
“We are looking forward to seeing if this pilot grant program can help facilitate economic growth and development which will be evaluated after the pilot round of the program.”
“I encourage small businesses across the region to apply; the more that get behind this, the stronger our local economy will be for everyone,” Clr Black said.
There is $30,000 in grant funding available in the pilot program, with eligible small business, who employ up to 15 people, able to apply for a one-off grant of up to $5,000.
Small businesses must be located in the Dubbo Regional Council Local Government Area to apply.
Applications must be made via SmartyGrants and will not be accepted via paper or email. Applications open Monday 3 August 2026 and close 9am, Monday 14 September 2026.
