The Crisafulli Government has secured Bluey’s World in Queensland until February 2028, through its Mega and Strategic Events Fund, ensuring the globally popular attraction remains exclusively in Brisbane.

Delivered under Destination 2045, the extension will keep one of Queensland’s most successful visitor experiences in the State, continuing to attract families from across Australia and around the world.

Since opening in November 2024, Bluey’s World has welcomed more than half a million visitors and generated more than $156 million for Queensland’s economy, with more than a quarter of visitors travelling from interstate.

The extension further strengthens Queensland’s growing pipeline of major events and experiences and reinforces the State’s reputation as the home of the holiday.

Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell said Bluey’s World demonstrated the power of backing Queensland stories and turning them into world-class visitor experiences.

“Bluey was created right here in Queensland and has become one of our greatest global success stories,” Minister Powell said.

“Families are travelling from across Australia and around the world to experience Bluey’s World, and now they’ll be able to keep doing so until 2028.

“This is about backing what makes Queensland special and making sure more visitors experience it for themselves.

“Destination 2045 is about creating more reasons to visit Queensland, stay longer and explore everything our State has to offer.”

Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said Bluey’s World had become one of Brisbane’s biggest visitor drawcards, with people around the globe recognising the city as Bluey’s home.

“Families are travelling from across Australia and around the world to experience Bluey’s World and see the city that inspired the show they love,” Cr Schrinner said.

“Extending Bluey’s World to 2028 means more visitors discovering Brisbane’s incredible lifestyle while supporting local jobs, businesses and tourism.”

Director of Brands & Licensing BBC Studios ANZ Sharon Wilson said Bluey held a very special place in the hearts of families around the world, and Bluey’s World captured that magic in a truly meaningful way.

“Extending the experience until 2028 allows even more fans to step into Bluey’s World and create lasting memories, while celebrating the creativity and storytelling that started right here in Brisbane,” Ms Wilson said.

Bluey’s World Producer Andrew Kay said the response to Bluey’s World had exceeded expectations.

“In addition to welcoming over half a million visitors we have generated more than 501,107 direct visitor nights and contributed $156.9 million in total direct and incremental expenditure across the state,” Mr Kay said.
