Delivering new and improved Caulfield Hospital

Liberal Party Victoria

In the next step of the Liberals and Nationals’ plan to fix Victoria’s healthcare crisis, a Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will provide $550 million to rebuild Caulfield Hospital.

The existing hospital is an outdated facility that is no longer fit-for-purpose to meet the needs of its patients, staff and the Caulfield community.

Our plan will build on Caulfield Hospital’s reputation for providing state-wide specialist rehabilitation services, expand its current operational capacity and give patients modern, safe and comfortable facilities to recover.

Leader of the Liberal Party, Matt Guy, said only the Liberals and Nationals have a plan to fix Victoria’s healthcare crisis.

“Every Victorian deserves access to the best healthcare, and this commitment will deliver a much-needed upgrade to Caulfield Hospital.”

“Our real solutions will build and upgrade hospitals right across the state, halve the elective surgery waitlist and deliver better support to healthcare workers.”

Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier, said years of neglect and underinvestment from the Andrews Labor Government had resulted in a health system in crisis which is not delivering for local communities.

“Victorians deserve better than an arrogant government that blames others for the crisis it has created,” Ms Crozier said.

“This commitment is an important part of our plan to fix Victoria’s healthcare crisis and give Caulfield locals the health services they deserve.”

Member for Caulfield, David Southwick, said today’s announcement was about delivering quality healthcare to the local community.

“Caulfield Hospital is well beyond its intended lifespan and a new, modern facility will deliver not only the services patients expect, but the facilities our healthcare workers deserve.”

“Daniel Andrews and Labor aren’t interested in providing better healthcare for Victorians. Only a Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will rebuild community hospitals, fix triple-zero and end Victoria’s healthcare crisis.”
