Disney+ Original Series Nautilus set to film in Australia

Based on the Jules Verne classic novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Nautilus is an epic ten-part live action series that tells the story, for the first time, from Nemo’s point of view. It is expected to inject more than $172 million into the Australian economy and create over 290 jobs for Australian cast and crew, and over 2,200 Australian extras.

This production will receive $23.3 million through our Location Incentive and additional support from the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy, and will be filmed at Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast from early 2022, with post-production work extending out to mid-2023.

To date, the Australian Government has provided more than $243 million under the Location Incentive funding to attract 24 international productions to Australia.
