A driver has been charged with negligent driving following a fatal crash between a utility and an e-bike at Scone earlier this year.
About 10.15am on Tuesday 17 February 2026, emergency services were called to Liverpool Street following reports of a crash.
At the scene, police were told an e-bike and utility had collided on the driveway of a property.
The 22-year-old rider of the e-bike was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died prior to arrival at hospital.
The driver of the car, a 56-year-old man, was taken to Scone Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established and inquiries into the crash commenced by officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District.
On Sunday 6 September 2026, officers served a future court attendance notice on the man for negligent driving (occasioning death).
He is due to appear before Scone Local Court on Wednesday 11 November 2026.
