A driver has died after a two-vehicle crash in Sydney’s northwest this morning.
About 5.30am (Wednesday 24 June 2026), emergency services were called to Windsor Road, Northmead, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command attended and found a flatbed truck carrying portable toilets had collided with a Toyota SUV trapping the driver.
Emergency services worked to free the driver of the SUV before NSW Ambulance paramedics took them to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.
Police have since been told the driver has died in hospital. They are yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the truck – a 42-year-old man – was assessed at the scene and taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police have established a crime scene and an investigation into the incident has commenced.
Emergency services are working to remove the vehicle involved; however, Windsor Road remains closed, and motorists are urged to avoid the area at this time.
