Drugs charges in New Beith, QLD

Police have charged two people with multiple drug offences after executing a search warrant in New Beith yesterday.

Officers located a suspicious device which resulted in a PSPA declaration in the local area shortly after 2pm.

Specialist police safely conducted a controlled detonation of the device at the scene without incident and the declaration was revoked shortly before 5pm.

During the search, officers also located various quantities of Ketamine and Gamma Hydroxybutyric Acid.

A 41-year-old New Beith man has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count of possess utensils and one count of unlawful possession of weapons (knuckleduster).

A 22-year-old Windsor woman has been charged with two counts of dangerous drugs and two counts of possess utensils.

Both were remanded in custody to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.

Investigations are continuing.
