As a proud supporter of Seniors Week, the Tasmanian Liberal Government is again offering free travel for Seniors Cards holders with a Greencard during Seniors Week (11 to 17 October 2021).
The theme of Seniors Week 2021 is “friendship” and Metro is a long-time partner of Seniors Week, an annual campaign presented by Council On The Ageing (COTA) with the support of Government.
For COTA, a key objective is providing accessible transport for seniors generally, and for Seniors Week patrons who want to participate in activities. COTA also assists with raising awareness of Metro services for senior Tasmanians, encouraging them to use these services, not just during Seniors Week but all year.
Using a Greencard is a quick and simple process – no need for correct change, just tap and go. In addition to being easier and quicker, it is cheaper, offering a 20 per cent discount on fares outside of the free travel period during Seniors Week.
