Funding is available to develop hydrogen hubs in regional Australia.
Applications for the Clean Hydrogen Industrial Hubs program will open 28 September 2021.
There are 2 grant opportunities for hubs at different stages of development:
- The Hub Development and Design Grants round will advance hydrogen hub concepts.
- The Hub Implementation Grants round 1 will establish clean hydrogen industrial hub projects.
We encourage applications from around Australia. The Australian Government has identified 7 priority prospective hub regions:
- Bell Bay (TAS)
- Pilbara (WA)
- Gladstone (QLD)
- La Trobe Valley (VIC)
- Eyre Peninsula (Whyalla – SA)
- Hunter Valley (NSW)
- Darwin (NT).
The government is investing $464 million in hydrogen hubs as part of its $1.2 billion commitment towards building a hydrogen industry. Hubs are critical to helping Australian industry produce hydrogen at under $2 a kilogram (‘H2 under 2’), a stretch goal of the Technology Investment Roadmap.
Applications close 22 November 2021.
