Global Learning Festival connects Wollongong to world of knowledge

Next week we’re participating in the Global Learning Festival — an international week-long celebration held between 8-11 November 2021, that connects people from countries across the world who share a love of learning.

The Global Learning Festival is a free online festival that’s open to anyone. As part of our contribution to this global event, Council is holding eight online workshops, activities and presentations that discuss different aspects of learning.

These workshops cover everything from sustainable living to early childhood during the global pandemic to tips on how to grow veggies without digging.

“Wollongong residents can register to attend any events as part of the Global Learning Festival and there are plenty of online activities for people to participate in,” Wollongong City Council Director Community Services, Kerry Hunt said.

“This is a global festival that sees participants from Australian cities such as Adelaide, Melton, Wyndham and now Wollongong, join forces with international partners in Bangladesh, Canada, Israel, Turkey, the United Kingdom and more.

“There’s a lot happening next week, with different programs targeting different interests and ages. I encourage everyone to have a look at the program and give something new a go.”
