Chief Minister and former Gray Primary student, Lia Finocchiaro led celebrations today marking the 40th birthday of the oldest school in Palmerston.

The four decades of commitment to fostering educational excellence and community spirit were marked with a special event involving students, alumni, parents, past and present staff.

Founded in 1984, Gray Primary School has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the region’s most respected primary schools, renowned for its innovative teaching methods, inclusive culture, and dedication to developing well-rounded students. Over the past 40 years, the school has educated thousands of students, helping them thrive academically, socially, and personally.

The 40th anniversary celebration was marked with a special school assembly and featured:

An alumni gathering of former students and staff where memories of Gray Primary School were shared and the positive impact the school has had.Special performances by students from year 5/6 and the school choir showcasing their musical and dance talents.A timeline of Gray Primary School’s 40-year history, featuring photographs, memorabilia, and key milestones that have shaped the school into what it is today.

A community BBQ and colour run followed the formal proceedings.

Gray Primary School’s 40th anniversary was a proud moment for everyone connected to the school, past and present.
