Quotes from Her Honour the Honourable Vicki O’Halloran AO, Administrator of the Northern Territory.

“It is wonderful that prominent buildings in the Territory will join other iconic buildings and monuments around Australia in illuminating royal purple to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this weekend.”

“Her Majesty has always held a strong connection with the people of the Northern Territory and has expressed this on many occasions. During her reign, she has visited the Territory on five separate occasions, including an overnight stay at Government House in 1982.”

“Her Majesty is the first monarch to celebrate a 70-year reign. The Queen’s life has been defined by service to her people, her country, and the Commonwealth. It is fitting to see so many people coming together in different ways across the Commonwealth this weekend to celebrate this significant milestone.”

“As The Queen’s representative in the Northern Territory, and on behalf of Territorians, I congratulate Her Majesty on this deeply meaningful anniversary and thank her for her lifetime of service.”
