Impersonation of paramedic at Ipswich

A man has been charged after allegedly claiming to be a paramedic and contravening a domestic violence order.

The 32-year-old Goodna man allegedly assaulted a 28-year-old woman known to him on several occasions since 2019.

It will also be alleged the man claimed to be a paramedic to establish relationships with other women at various times over the last three years, giving them medical advice, assistance and examinations.

The 32-year-old has been charged with five counts of common assault, as well as a count each of claiming to be qualified to practice as a health professional, rape, wilful damage and contravention of a domestic violence order.

The man was refused police bail and will appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday, April 11.

Investigations are continuing. Anyone with information that may assist with the ongoing investigation is encouraged to come forward to police.
