Label templates for high strength fluoride toothpaste

Over the last few months, we have published information on the responsibilities of dentists with respect to labelling of ‘Pharmacist Only Medicines (S3) when they are provided to patients in the practice. One product that falls within this schedule is high strength fluoride toothpaste.

Dr Geraldine Moses, who provides the ADA’s valued PharmaAdvice service outlined in her most recent article (page 27 of the September News Bulletin) specific details about the legal requirements across all states and territory legislations when it comes to what you need to put on the label. An example is shown of the label text to be included that will be appropriate to use in all Australian states.

The label templates can be downloaded at www.ada.org.au/medicationlabels

These labels will be able to be printed directly onto generic labels that measure 3.81 cm high x 9.9 cm wide. These can be purchased at most office supply stores.
