Liberal-Green unity ticket rides again to keep Tasmanians in the dark 15 November 2023

Tas Labor

If a vote in support of increased taxes wasn’t enough, the Liberals and the Greens have teamed-up together for the second time this afternoon.

By voting down Labor’s amendments to the GBE estimates schedule, the Liberals and the Greens have teamed-up to vote against an opportunity to scrutinise TasTAFE, Homes Tasmania, Macquarie Point Development Corporation and Stadiums Tasmania.

If the Greens had voted to support the amendment these entities would have all been sitting at the Committee table next week.

The only explanation is that the Greens have stitched up a deal with the Government, and Tasmanians deserve to know what they will receive in return.

There have been significant changes to TasTAFE, Homes Tasmania, Macquarie Point Development Corporation and Stadiums Tasmania over the past year which are all highly deserving of public scrutiny.

The Greens had an opportunity to ensure just that, but bizarrely they have chosen to team up with the Liberal Government to keep Tasmanians in the dark.
