Live and age well in our community

Swan Hill Rural City Council will host three information and engagement sessions, for residents to hear about the Commonwealth Governments National Aged Care Reform.

Council’s Director Community and Cultural Services, Bruce Myers said the Australian Government was continuing to reform the national aged care service system and on 1 July 2024 the way in-home and community aged care services are funded and delivered would change.

“It is important to us that our clients and community are aware and informed about the aged care reform and what those changes will mean for older residents both now and in the future.

“We are inviting current aged care clients, carers and interested community members to attend an information and engagement session to give them the opportunity to hear about the Commonwealth Governments National Aged Care Reform and to ask any questions about what changes may mean for them,” Mr Myers said.

Mr Myers said the sessions would also provide an opportunity for Council to hear what is important to our residents, ensuring that they can live and age well in our community.

“Feedback will assist us in future planning to support all people to remain active and valued members of our community,” he said.

Mr Myers said for anyone that is unable to attend the information and engagement sessions, could leave their feedback online.

“If you can’t attend one of the three sessions, there is still the opportunity to leave feedback online via Council’s Let’s Talk page,” he said.
