Former Michelin star chef Bruno Loubet will proclaim his sustainable living message at the Logan Eco Action Festival (LEAF) next month.
Logan’s new Food Ambassador will share his best tips for sustainable food production, as well as dishing out some culinary secrets during a live cooking demonstration.
Mr Loubet joins a stellar line up of festival guests for LEAF 2019, including ABC TV Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis, gardening guru Claire Bickle, Jimboomba’s Queensland Rural Women’s Award winner and beekeeper Natasha Roebig and horticulturalist Paul Plant.
He said LEAF was a great opportunity to showcase clean green living and share ideas about how best to preserve local communities for the future.
“It is very important to be sustainable because if we are not, we are not going to have much legacy for the children,” Mr Loubet said.
“Being sustainable means you look after things in a proper way, you walk with your arm around them and you make the best out of it without destroying anything for the future.”
LEAF, held in recognition of World Environment Day, is about inspiring people to live a more sustainable lifestyle and reduce their carbon foot-print.
This year’s World Environment Day message is ‘if you can’t reuse it, refuse it’.
There is a huge interest in people becoming more environmentally-friendly across South-East Queensland.
LEAF is a must-do event for anyone conscious of their impact on the environment and wanting to encourage an interactive relationship with the outdoors.
It is about bringing communities together to gain a better understanding about the environment and what can be done to improve quality of life by protecting natural assets and by making smarter choices that will better serve future generations.
The free event will also feature workshops and demonstrations promoting tips and tricks on sustainable living practices such as plant based cooking, cheese making, keeping backyard chickens, kokedama making and composting.
The Logan Eco Action Festival is on Sunday, May 26 at Griffith University’s Logan Campus in Meadowbrook, from 10am until 3pm.
