A man will face court today charged with property offences following an extensive investigation near Newcastle.
On Tuesday 14 July 2026, police executed a search warrant at a home in Fullerton Cove as part of Operation Horizon.
Operation Horizon was established in June 2026 following a large gathering at a park on Ingall Street, Mayfield.
During the search, police located and seized five motorbikes, clothing, helmets, and electronics.
A 21-year-old man was arrested that day and taken to Waratah Police Station where he was charged with seven offences. Those matters remain before the courts.
Following extensive inquiries into several aggravated break and enter incidents over the past 12 months – including the alleged theft of unregistered motorbikes to the value of $250,000 – police arrested a man at Raymond Terrace Police Station about 9.30am yesterday (Wednesday 19 August 2026).
The 21-year-old man was charged with 33 offences,
- Aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal value less than $60000 (13 counts)
- Aggravated break and enter with intent – knowing person there
- Receive property – theft = serious indictable offence more than $5000
- Face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence (six counts)
- Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner (two counts)
- Drive motor vehicle while licence suspended (two counts)
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period (four counts), and
- Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous (four counts).
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Thursday 20 August 2026).
