A man will appear in court today charged over a string of offences on the transport network in Sydney’s south west.
About 11.30pm on Saturday 17 October 2020, a 35-year-old man was waiting on a platform at Cabramatta Railway Station, when an unknown man approached him and stole a bag containing cash.
Shortly after, a 21-year-old man boarded a train at Liverpool Railway Station and while seated in the carriage, he was approached by an unknown man who demanded money.
When he didn’t comply, and the man allegedly shoulder barged him, before exiting the train at Granville.
In a third incident, a 22-year-old man was walking on Fire Horse Lane, Parramatta, about 12.30am on Sunday 18 October 2020, when he was approached by a man who stole his watch and mobile phone.
Police were notified and an investigation into the incidents commenced by officers attached to Police Transport Command.
Following inquiries, a 26-year-old man was arrested at Liverpool Police Station just before 6pm yesterday (Tuesday 20 October 2020).
He was charged with robbery, common assault and steal from person.
The Liverpool man was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Wednesday 21 October 2020).
