Man robbed and assaulted on St Kilda foreshore

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a 51-year-old man was assaulted and robbed on St Kilda foreshore on Thursday.

The South Yarra man sleeping on the grassed area about 300 metres west of West Beach Bathers Pavilion between 7.40-10pm.

He was woken after a male offender kicked him in the head numerous times and stole his small bag he was using as a pillow.

The bag contained the man’s Australian passport and a small amount of cash.

He sustained a broken nose, chipped teeth and swollen ear during the incident.

Police would like to speak to two people who it’s believed may have witnessed the incident and assisted the injured victim.
