Tasmania Police is reminding motorcyclists to be safe on our roads, after three people were charged with dangerous driving and speeding offences following a crash at Cambridge last month.
Police were called to the scene on Cambridge Road, Cambridge about 9pm on Thursday, 13 February after a motorcycle crashed, leaving the injured rider about 30 metres from the roadside.
Police reviewed camera footage filmed by the rider, a 24-year-old man from Taroona, which showed he and two other motorcycle riders had been travelling up to 175kms over the speed limit a short time before the crash.
The man, whose injuries were not life threatening, was later interviewed and charged with dangerous driving and speeding offences. His motorcycle was destroyed in the crash.
A 41-year-old Sorell man and a 47-year-old man from Kingston were both charged with speeding at 45km over the limit. They were disqualified from riding for 4 months and had their motorcycles seized for 28 days.
