Celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, NAIDOC Week is a great opportunity for people from all walks of life to participate in a range of activities that celebrate and support our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

This year’s theme is Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!

Throughout the week from Sunday 3 July to 10 July, a number of NAIDOC events are taking place within Port Phillip. We’ve put together an events calendar so you can join in the celebration. These events are free and open to all.

Check out the visual arts installation on Jacka Boulevard by artist Kent Morris from Sunday 3 July. The installation is on the remaining wall facing the St Kilda foreshore.

Attend the Galiamble book launch at St Kilda Town Hall Auditorium on Monday 4 July from 2 pm to 4 pm and learn about respectful practice, no-matter who you will be working with.

Enjoy arts, crafts, BBQ, cooking and solo musical performances at Access Health from 11.30 am on Tuesday 5 July at Access Health. The day-long event features live music from Monica Weightman and afternoon tea provided by Mabu Mabu.

Join the NAIDOC Week Youth event at St Kilda PCYC for a 3-on-3 basketball competition – with prizes for the youth. There will also be a BBQ from 12 pm to 2 pm.

Learn about sustainability and looking out for Mother Earth, while engaging conversations about the original landowners with Wayapa Sustainability on Friday 8 July from 10.30 am to 11.30 am at St Kilda Library. Book your ticket here

Come down to South Melbourne Market for live musical performances by Canisha Clemmet-Kennedy, Darren Clinch, Kiwat Kennell and Olivia Meg on Saturday 9 July and Sunday 10 July, between 12 pm and 1.30 pm.
