Tomorrow’s weather pattern is looking quite similar to today’s. We have this high pressure system in the south-east, bringing more dry and settled conditions and plenty of morning fog and frost.
Out east we have this trough developing offshore, bringing some enhanced onshore flow near the Queensland and New South Wales coast. We’ll see some heavier showers, some possible storms near the coastal fringe, some increased winds and waves in this area.
And out west, another wet and stormy day ahead of the passage of the next cold front.
Let’s take a look state by state, and we’ll start in Queensland, where once again the bulk of the weather is about the south-east with this enhanced onshore flow. We’re seeing shower activity, particularly south of about K’gari. We could also see some coastal thunderstorms developing. We’ll also see an increase in some gusty conditions as well as some larger waves starting to develop offshore. Further north along the coast, we’re only looking at some much more isolated shower activity, and further inland another dry and sunny day.
For inland New South Wales, it will be dry and settled as well, with plenty of morning fog and frost. Throughout eastern districts we once again will have some showers developing from the Illawarra and all the way up north towards our border. Now our focus for the heaviest shower activity tomorrow will once again be about the far north, where we could also see some storms about the coastal fringe. We could see some slightly gusty conditions and large waves in that area as well. For Sydney tomorrow it will be 19 °C with a few showers possible during the day.
And for folks in Canberra, be prepared to defrost your windscreens once again. It will be a frosty start, then a sunny day with a top of 15 °C.
In Victoria, it will be very settled under this very strong high pressure system. Plenty of morning fog and areas of cloud as well. Tomorrow we’re going to start to see an increase in daytime temperatures, in particular about our north-east. Our alpine areas are going to start to see some unusually warm temperatures tomorrow, persisting into the weekend. For Melbourne, we’re likely to have some fog or cloud about in the morning, then clearing up with a top of 16 °C.
In Tasmania we once again have this westerly flow becoming a little bit more brisk at times, so that means we’ll have cloud and showers banking up in our west once again, and much drier out towards the east. For Hobart, likely to have some cloud about, with a top of 15 °C.
Very settled conditions once again for South Australia, with plenty of fog and frost through central and eastern parts of the state. For Adelaide and around the hills in particular, it’s likely to be a frosty start. In the city, it will be 5 °C tomorrow morning, then a sunny day with a top of 17 °C.
Storms and plenty of rainfall tomorrow for Western Australia. To start with, we have this band of rain which is stalling around the Central West. With rain and storms in that area, we could see some heavy falls leading to some flash flooding. We’ll then see another increase in rain and storms through our south-west ahead of this next frontal system. We’re also going to see some gusty conditions start to develop through our south. For Perth tomorrow, 20 °C with showers increasing from the afternoon and possible storms.
Once again in the Northern Territory, another very typical dry season day, pretty much a carbon copy of today. 20 °C tomorrow morning in Darwin, 32 °C tomorrow afternoon. For Uluru and Alice Springs, it’ll be a cold morning, then sunny with a top of 19 °C.
That’s all for our National Weather Forecast. If you’d like some
