We’re pleased to announce a new community bike park is being planned at RW Stone Reserve in Somers.
During the COVID-19 lockdowns our local young people were building their own dirt jumps at the reserve.
Council supported the decision to build a dedicated bike park at RW Stone Reserve and is funding $100k through our COVID Recovery Actions and $30K through our other funding channels for the planning, design and construction.
We would like to provide a bike park including features such as:
- a range of jump lines for different abilities
- a path network for easy access to the bike park
- seated viewing areas.
We are working with award-winning recreation planners @Leisure to establish key features and the best location for a bike park within the reserve. This planning phase will carefully consider the local environment, neighbourhood and the wider community who use the reserve regularly.
We want you to have your say about what features you would like to see at the bike park, how you currently use the reserve and any general comments or thoughts about RW Stone Reserve. Your feedback will be used to create a concept plan for the reserve.
