New Event Manager to lead iconic event

Northern Territory Major Events Company

The 18th Alice Springs Masters Games (ASMG) has a new Event Manager who brings a wealth of experience to the role. Joel Ulbricht has spent more than 15 years in event management, both in Australia and overseas, and is looking forward to delivering a world-class event in the Red Centre.

Joel’s achievements include pulling together one of the best BMX National Championships ever in Brisbane in 2017, closely followed by leading a team of 600 Australian athletes to the UCI BMX World Championships in Rock Hill, USA.

Joel has delivered music festivals and Australia Day events, as well as the 2019 Canowindra International Balloon Challenge in NSW. This iconic gathering, which attracts pilots and balloons from around the world, sees the historic town of 2000 swell to nearly 9000, delivering a huge boost to the local economy.

The ASMG delivers a similar benefit to Alice Springs, with almost 4000 athletes, volunteers, friends and family coming together and creating a festival atmosphere.

Fondly known as ‘The Friendly Games’ thanks to the sense of camaraderie that prevails throughout, the ASMG began in 1986. Held every two years, in 2020 the games will run from 10-17 October. Visit www.alicespringsmastersgames.com.au
