A provisional driver has had his licence suspended after blowing over the legal limit and rolling his vehicle in a two-car collision in Glebe overnight.
About 9.40pm (Friday 5 June 2020), a white Mitsubishi Triton utility, driven by an 18-year-old man, was travelling east on Bridge Road when it lost control near the intersection of Taylor Street.
The ute subsequently hit a crash barrier, rolled onto its roof and collided with a Toyota Echo, driven by a 44-year-old man, travelling west on Bridge Road.
Officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics.
Both vehicles suffered extensive damage, with the tray of the utility coming to rest on the bonnet of the Toyota.
Neither driver was injured and both men participated in mandatory testing at the scene.
The 18-year-old utility driver was arrested after allegedly returning a positive roadside breath test.
He was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station where a subsequent breath analysis reading of 0.037 was recorded.
Police also allegedly located 1.6g of cannabis within the utility.
The 18-year-old was issued a Court Attendance Notice for special range PCA and possess prohibited drug.
He is due to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 28 August 2020.
Bridge Road was blocked in both directions with traffic diversions in place for approximately one hour. The roadway was cleared at 10.30pm.
