Patrol car rammed in northern suburbs, South Australia

Police are hunting for a driver and two passengers after a patrol car was rammed at Salisbury Heights.

Just after 3.30am on Wednesday 10 July, patrols spotted a suspicious blue Commodore sedan on Derrick Road at Elizabeth East and tried to stop it. The driver refused and sped off before turning left onto Main North Road.

Police terminated the pursuit and then spotted the car a short time later on The Grove Way where it was seen to turn right into Canterbury Drive and then right into Damian Drive before entering Ely Place. As patrols entered the dead end street, the sedan turned around and then deliberately crashed into the front passenger side of the police vehicle before speeding off towards The Grove Way.

No police were injured and about $5000 damage has been caused to the patrol car. Investigations are continuing.
