Mornington Peninsula Shire is pleased to announce that a new public electric vehicle (EV) charging station is now open in Flinders. Located in the roadside car bays outside Wood Street shopping centre, this newly installed fast charger can charge a standard EV from zero to approximately 80% charge within an hour.

Fully funded through the Victorian Government’s Destination Charging Across Victoria grant program and Evie Networks, this most recent charging station will help to expand the Peninsula’s electric vehicle charging network. It will also help to promote EV uptake within the community.

In keeping with the Shire’s commitment towards net zero community emissions, the service will be operated by Evie Networks, who have committed to power the charger from 100 per cent renewable electricity sources. This means locals and visitors can charge their electric vehicle using clean, zero emissions energy and help to decrease our reliance on fossil fuels.
