Police charge man after investigation into sale of semi-automatic rifles in Minto

A man will face court today charged following an investigation by Strike Force Raptor into the alleged supply of illegal firearms.

In June 2018, investigators from the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs and firearms across the state.

Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a 41-year-old man at Minto about 11.30am yesterday (Wednesday 11 November).

The man was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with two counts of supply prohibited firearm to unauthorised person and sell prohibited weapon to person without permit.

Police will allege in court that the 41-year-old sold three semi-automatic rifles and a police-issued ballistic vest to another man in June 2019.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Thursday 12 November).

Investigations are ongoing.
