Mechelle Turvey OAM
Mechelle Turvey OAM serves as Assistant Director, Aboriginal Affairs, and has become a prominent advocate for understanding, compassion and community responsibility. In her role with the WA Police Force, she has contributed to improved engagement with victims of crime, including through the Take 5 victim engagement training program for police recruits.
Her work has supported Aboriginal families through trauma, strengthened culturally safe practice, and promoted trust through listening and respectful engagement across the community.
Her sustained contribution to safer and more inclusive practice, and her service to the Indigenous communities of Western Australia, make her highly deserving of recognition through the Order of Australia Medal.
Commander Levinia Hugo APM
Commander Levinia Hugo APM has served the agency and community with distinction for more than 23 years. She has demonstrated exceptional operational leadership, including as Superintendent of the Family Violence Division, where she led major reform to strengthen frontline responses across Western Australia.
Her work included the statewide Family Violence Response Model, introduction of the Family Violence History Assist Tool and FVIR mobile app, and delivery of Operation Keelia to improve triage and support during high-risk periods.
In partnership with Curtin University, she also led development of the Harm Assessment Risk Tool to strengthen risk assessment and support frontline decision-making. Her leadership has improved operational consistency, interagency coordination and community safety.

Superintendent Jason Beesley APM
Superintendent Jason Beesley APM has served the agency and community with distinction for more than 35 years.
He has demonstrated exceptional leadership and operational excellence across regional and metropolitan policing, including senior roles in Kalgoorlie, the Gang Crime Squad and the Wheatbelt, leading complex investigations into violent crime and organised gold theft, and coordinating significant deployments across the Goldfields – Esperance region.
In his current role as Divisional Superintendent, Custodial Services and Mental Health Division, he has led reform to strengthen Court Security and Custodial Services, including implementation of a Police Auxiliary Officer substitution model that has reduced frontline demand and improved operational efficiency.

Senior Sergeant Kal Greenaway APM
Senior Sergeant Kal Greenaway APM has completed more than 39 years of distinguished frontline and operational service with the Western Australia Police Force, serving across metropolitan, regional and remote locations.
Her career has combined general policing with advanced specialist forensic operations, including crime scene investigation, digital forensics, and support to homicide, serious assault, sexual offence, child exploitation and organised crime investigations.
She has also provided critical forensic capability to geographically isolated communities and demonstrated leadership through long-term acting service as Officer in Charge at Roebourne Police Station.
In specialist and leadership roles, she has strengthened forensic capability, supported major investigations, mentored staff, and contributed to organisational improvement.
Senior Constable Andrew Seery APM
Senior Constable Andrew Seery APM joined the Western Australia Police Force in 2003 and has provided exceptional service across operational, training, welfare and ceremonial roles.
In Injury Coordination and Support Services, he has made a significant and enduring contribution as Police Funeral Coordinator, developing funeral protocols and procedures for serving and retired officers, Aboriginal Police Liaison Officers and unsworn staff, tailored to a range of operational and family circumstances.
He has led important ceremonial reforms, including live streaming for police funerals, an all-channels communication capability for funerals with Police Honours, and modernisation of ceremonial uniform and insignia standards.
