Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Douglas

Police are appealing for community assistance to identify a male they wish to speak to in relation to an attempted armed robbery of a fish and chip shop in Douglas on June 15.

Around 5.20pm on Thursday, June 15, a male entered the Riverside Boulevard shop, produced a large knife from the waistband of his pants and made demands for money from the 29-year-old male shop attendant.

The shop attendant refused and did not hand over any money. The male left the scene without obtaining cash.

No one was physically injured in the incident.

The male is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid to late teens, with a slim build and dark hair. He was wearing a dark hoodie and track pants and carrying a dark grey and blue backpack.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who can identify the male pictured to contact police.
