Detectives from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch searched a Flinders Park home on Wednesday 1 February and arrested two people as part of an investigation into the attempted importation of eight kilograms of cocaine.
A 30-year-old man and an 82-year-old woman, both from Flinders Park, were arrested and charged with attempting to traffic in a large commercial quantity of cocaine.
They were both released on bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 12 April.
Detective Superintendent Billy Thompson, Officer in Charge of Serious and Organised Crime Branch said, “This is another example of the unwavering determination of Serious and Organised Crime Branch detectives to stop the flow of dangerous illicit drugs into South Australia. This amount of cocaine, with a street value of about $3.2million, could have caused enormous harm to our community.”
