Police seek witnesses to aggravated robbery – Karama

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to an incident on Friday evening in which a youth was assaulted and robbed.

Around 7pm, the 16-year-old female was travelling alone on the number 12 Darwin bus in Karama.

She was approached by three other teenaged girls unknown to her who had been seated towards the back of the bus. The girls allegedly demanded a mobile phone and money. On being refused, they then allegedly began to assault the victim and stole her phone.

The offenders ran off the bus at the Karama Shopping Centre, where the victim was assisted by a security guard. She did not require medical treatment.

Acting Sergeant Strike Force Trident Aaron Watts said, “The offenders remain outstanding at this time and detectives are working to identify and apprehend them.

“We have spoken to some witnesses and are reviewing CCTV but would like anyone with information, home CCTV or dash-cam footage to come forward.”
