Police update: Arson investigation at Gympie

Police have released footage of two men who may be able to assist with inquiries after several shop fires in Gympie on, April 10.

At 12.30am police were patrolling Mary Street when they saw a fire inside a tobacconist.

Officers called for assistance from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, however the flames spread quickly to two neighbouring businesses.

The fire caused a series of explosions from within the tobacconist and affected power to the area.

Anyone who recognises the men depicted in the footage is asked to contact police.

Police are also attempting to identify the driver and passenger of a white 2010 Toyota Aurion sedan, seen in the area at the time, as they may be able to assist with enquiries.

No one was physically injured in the fire.
