Positive COVID-19 Case Update 17 April

Six new positive COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the Northern Territory in the past 24 hours.

Two females, aged 29 and 55, and four males, aged 31, 38, 40 and 42 who arrived on the repatriation flight from Chennai on 15 April 2021 have tested positive for COVID-19.

Five of the cases remain asymptomatic while the 40-year-old male has mild symptoms. All are under the care of the AUSMAT team at the NT Centre for National Resilience.

Since repatriation flights to the Northern Territory began on 23 October 2020:

  • 6,487 international arrivals have undertaken quarantine at the Howard Springs Centre for National Resilience.
  • A total of 79 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported from international repatriation.

The total number of cases diagnosed in the Northern Territory is 120. All cases have been related to international or interstate travel, with no cases of community transmission.
