School teacher charged over sexual touching of student in Sydney’s south west

A teacher has been charged following an investigation into the alleged sexual touching of a student at a school in Sydney’s south west.

In December 2019, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports a 13-year-old girl had been sexually touched by a man who was known to her.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 63-year-old man at a home in the Southern Highlands just after 8.30am today (Friday 24 January 2020).

The man was taken to Moss Vale Police Station and charged with two counts of intentionally sexually touch child between 10 and 16 years.

Police will allege in court, that the man sexually touched the girl during a class in December 2019.

He has been refused bail to appear at Moss Vale Local Court later today.

Investigations are continuing.
