Small businesses looking to excel online are encouraged to participate in Round 2 of the Digital Solutions Program now running across the country.

The Minister for Small Business Julie Collins and Member for Jagajaga Kate Thwaites visited the Melbourne Innovation Centre, the Digital Solutions provider for Victoria, to discuss the opportunities of the program

The Minister shared the Albanese Government’s enthusiasm for the program that helps small businesses adopt digital tools.

“It was great to be here today with the Member for Jagajaga, Kate Thwaites, to meet with the Melbourne Innovation Centre and share our passion for small businesses and their importance to the Australian economy.

“The Albanese Government is investing in small businesses to help them create jobs, harness opportunities and grow in the digital economy.

“What we know is that digital technology is key to a stronger, productive, and resilient economy.

The support provided by the Digital Solutions Program has helped many Australian small businesses make great strides towards digital adoption.”

The Member for Jagajaga, Kate Thwaites, said: “With almost all of the businesses in my electorate of Jagajaga being small businesses, I know the importance of supporting them to grow and thrive.”

“It is additionally pleasing to see that the Melbourne Innovation Centre here in Greensborough is being supported by the Albanese Government to work with small businesses right across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania to grow their digital capacity.”

Melbourne Innovation Centre has already delivered Digital Solutions for the last five years, joining two other providers in helping around 50,000 small businesses around Australia to adopt digital tools.

Under Digital Solutions, small businesses are able to access up to four hours of one-on-one digital advice from a qualified and experienced business advisor for a small fee.

They can also access free workshops, webinar presentations and self‑directed tutorials on a range of topics.

These include learning how digital tools can help small business, developing websites and selling online, social media and digital marketing, using small business software, as well as cyber security and data privacy.

There are three lead Digital Solutions providers who, along with their partner organisations, are ready to help eligible small businesses, regardless of where they’re located.

  • Realise Business in New South Wales and the ACT;
  • Business Foundations in Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory; and
