COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,327 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 16,448 active cases in South Australia.

There are 211 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including seven people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 129 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 76 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and six have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling from 1 to 23 May has found 98.8% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 6,915 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 24.8% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,286 PCR tests were positive, while 1,041 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
