Swift work sees motorbike rider rescued at Mount Disappointment

Victoria Police Search and Rescue assisted in the rescue of a motorbike rider who was seriously injured after crashing into a tree at Mount Disappointment yesterday.

It is believed two males were riding dirt bikes in the Mount Disappointment area about 6.15pm on 8 January when one male crashed his bike into a tree.

Emergency services were initially unable to locate the men due to the thick terrain in the area.

The police Air Wing were called in to help locate the pair before guiding ambulance paramedics to the injured man.

Swift work saw the victim extracted from the terrain a short time later by Search and Rescue crews on the ground.

A 46-year-old Hilldene man was airlifted to a Melbourne Hospital with critical injuries.
